We use Qwizdom's Q4 remotes.

There is a big push in education at the moment for 'no hands up' - this is deemed necessary to ensure that the same children don't always answer the questions and because many children don't put their hand up. Qwizdom is an obvious answer to this issue, enabling all children to respond all of the time. In addition the fact that the responses are recorded ensures you have a sound record of assessment that can be used to formulate your next steps.

In my school I have a very large group of disaffected Y6 boys and Qwizdom helps them to understand and enjoy learning. I use the remotes as a way of engaging them. They love the games and are more determined to learn their 'tables' to succeed!

Your welcome Mark. I would love to make use of my digital camera in my curriculum development! As of yet, I have not had the chance.

I love that idea for a creative writing lesson - having the students bring in pictures that they took gives them ownership and a personal connection!

Hi Mark,

I have not tried it yet but heard about it in a Podcast. I was hoping to get some feedback from someone who has had some experience with the program.

This looks great, but expensive. What does it do exactly? Is it a game or a way for students to respond to qustions with answer pads? It seems like a combination of the above and more!

These are some great sites. I like the link for 1001 uses for a digital camera in class. They have a suggestion for a creative writing lesson. Each student comes in with unique pictures that they took, or the teacher takes a bunch. Then the pictures get shuffled and each students receives about 6. The students can then make up a story using the pictures as the illustrations.

There are many other good ideas on these sites that I am going to utilize in my English class. Thanks for the post!
